At Dawn's Bra-tique, we want every woman who comes into our store to feel comfortable and confident. Check out these frequently asked questions for more information on how the  bra fitting process works, what to expect when shopping in our store, and more!

Do you take walk-ins?

We sure do!

All walk-ins are served on a first-come, first-serve basis. (Appointments will get in at their scheduled time, no waiting.)

Depending on how busy we are, walk-ins may have to wait to get fitted. Wait times can vary widely.

We kindly ask that walk-ins arrive before 4:00pm so we have enough time to fit you before close.

Group walk-ins (two or more people who walk-in together) may have longer wait times, or staggered fitting times. We strongly encourage groups of 3 or more to please book an appointment.

How long does a fitting take?


A bra fitting typically takes about 45 minutes, though factors such as how fast you change or how decisive you are can affect the length of time it takes. How long you spend in one of our fitting rooms also depends on several other factors.



- Returning clients may need less time than new clients as a returning client's re-fit process typically takes less time than a brand new fitting.

- Returning clients looking to purchase the same style(s) previously purchased, or something similar to past purchases, also may require less time.

- New or returning clients who are looking to purchase multiple different types of products (eg. everyday bras, sports bras, and swimwear) will need more time.

- Clients looking for something specific (eg. a strapless bra) typically need less time.

Is there parking nearby? Where can I park?


We are happy to offer free parking for our clients to use!


Our parking lot is located behind our building directly off the back alley way, behind the Earl’s restaurant.

When in the back alleyway headed north (towards 102 ave), our parking lot is the second lot on the right-hand side of the alley.


We do not have a sign with the business name on the back of our building, so don’t panic if you don’t see one! You’ll know you’re in the right parking lot if there is a mannequin with a pink bra on in the back bay window.

Do I need to bring anything with me to my fitting?


Not necessarily, though it may be helpful in making a decision, or required in some cases.


- It is not a requirement, but some clients find it helpful to bring some of their favourite tops and/or work uniform with them to their fitting. This way clients can see how different bra styles look under their frequently worn items. Trying different bras with your tops allows you to ensure you like the shape and profile a bra is giving you and may help you make a decision.


- If you are shopping for a bra or shapewear to go with a specific top, dress, or outfit (eg. bridal dresses, wedding party outfits, graduation dresses, etc) bring the outfit with you if at all possible!

Do you make custom bras and swimwear?


We don't custom make items from scratch, but we have an extensive size range and a wide variety of different products as well as a seamstress in-house to tailor items to your exact needs, ensuring the perfect fit every time. Alterations to ensure the fit or comfort of the bra are most often no additional charge.


We can even do alterations to customize the look of a bra to best meet your wants and needs. Love a style but hate the straps? We can change them! Hate the bows on a bra? We'll remove them! Want to be able to cross the straps in the back of a bra? We can make that happen! Alterations like these that are done for cosmetic purposes do often come with a small charge. See your fitter for details.

How much does it cost? Is there a fee to get fit?


The fitting itself does not cost a thing. We don't charge fitting fees, so you only pay for the product(s) you're purchasing!


Prices for our bras, swimwear, and other products vary depending on quality, meaning that from one brand to another there can be a big difference in cost. This is usually a reflection of quality of the parts and pieces used by the different manufacturers.


Bras : $70 - $180+

Swimwear : $80 - $160+

Do you carry mastectomy/lumpectomy products (for breast cancer survivors)?


We certainly do! We carry a variety of different styles of both full and partial breast prosthetics (or breast forms) as well as mastectomy bras (bras with pockets to accommodate a prosthesis). We also have the ability to make non-mastectomy bras into mastectomy bras with the help of our in-house seamstress.

Whether you just had surgery, are still undergoing treatment, or finished treatment a long time ago, we're here and ready to help you get the products you need to look your best so you can feel confident.

We strongly encourage clients looking for these products to book an appointment. Making an appointment ensures our fitter will have the necessary one-on-one time with you to ensure we're meeting all your needs.

Do you alter bras not purchased from your store?

Do you do dress alterations?


Unfortunately no, we do not alter any products not purchased from our store, nor do we offer dress alterations.

Bra and swimwear alterations are one of the benefits you can access by shopping with us and we are proud to offer these services to our loyal customers.

Our seamstress works very hard to ensure high quality alterations in a timely fashion for our clients. In order to maintain this integrity, we simply cannot accept outside products.

I need these items right away, can you help?


We certainly can! We know plans or dates change, and surprise trips or events come up giving you no extra time to plan ahead and we are here to help. We have a wide selection of bras and swimwear in stock at all times. Lots of products don’t need altering and can go home the same day!

When items do need alterations, sometimes we may be able to offer rush alterations. Notify your fitter of any time constraints you have as soon as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate your timeline.

You are also welcome to take unaltered items right away for your trip or event and then bring items back afterwards for the necessary alterations.
